Introducing "Nook" of San Diego, California
Local PYPU Correspondent, Southern
Region
The CALIFORNIA
DISTRICT COUNCIL held March 8-11 2000 at the Radisson Hotel, San Bernardino, was a great
success. I am happy to report
the P.Y.P.U. portion was an outstanding and enlightening experience...
It all began for the young people on Friday night as we eagerly awaited the Teen Service
held in the Sierra Room. There was standing room only as the service began to fill
swiftly. The MC for this service was conducted by Min. Tobiase Brookins of Eld. Stephen
Hamilton's church in Pacoima, CA. He lead us into a glorious time in the Lord. This
service included a Praise and Worship Team, testimonies and singing of various youth
choirs represented from all over the state. Due to the service being overcrowded we where
moved to three different locations finally ending up in the main ballroom, Yippee! We
continued to praise our God.
Wrapping up the After Hour Service was "Triumphant" the youth choir of
TRUTH APOSTOLIC in the Southern Region. They wrecked the house followed by a dynamic
speaker who lead us into the Word of God. As the night ended many were touched and set
free.
Saturday was a day filled of worship services, seminars and singing held for our young
people. The Morning Glory service began at 10:30 a.m. with the speaker being Min. Keith
Matrix followed by Midday Service with Pastor Roderick Crawford. The Teen Mass Choir did
an excellent job filling our hearts with joy as they sang "Patiently Waiting"
and "I've Got A Reason To Praise The Lord."
Night service quickly approached... Night service began with The Praise And Worship Team
conducted by Min. O.G. McClinton of Greater Bethany Community Church. If you missed the
C.D.C. Young Adult Mass Choir you missed a real treat. Them chil'ren sang under
the anointing of God and on one accord. The choir was under the direction the
affectionately known Sabrina over the C.D.C. state choir and assisted by Min.
Sean Morgan of Greater Bethany Community.
The speaker for Evening Worship Service was the dynamic Dr. Robert Douglas, Sr. of Jacob's
Ladder, Inglewood. He came from out of the book of Isaiah speaking on Restoration.
He tore the house down with Word that the Lord gave him to deliver to HIS PEOPLE.
Once again I am so overjoyed to
make it out to another council. I've been blessed to grow up in the P.A.W. since I was
three or four years of age. As a kid I tagged along with my older sister and mom to
councils and 5th Saturdays. It's helped me to stay on fire for the Lord. I'll be 23 this
May and happy to report that I'm still here. My sister now resides in Ohio and is still
active in her church and state. Thank you C.D.C for dedicating a whole day to our youth.
Special Shout Out to the Southern Region, coordinator of
this website, along with Bishop Carl W. Stewart for allowing such a praise report to be
posted. If the Lord tarries we will do this again at our next council to be held in
the great city of Los Angeles, July of 2000 at the LAX Marriot.
God Bless You All Until He Comes.
