Dear Jews for Jesus,
I am a firm believer in Deut 6:4 "Hear, O Israel, The L-RD our G-d the L-rd is
one." The purpose of
this commentary is to obtain feedback from you regarding your essentially tritheistic view
of the Godhead (please, before you say you're monotheistic, I implore you to read on).
You believe that you are still
monotheistic, as stated in your belief statement, that you believe in "One sovereign G-d."
However, it is also stated, in your belief statement, the trinitarian viewpoint of the
Godhead as "THREE persons." This tritheistic viewpoint is what has
hindered the majority of other Jews from becoming Believers as the trinitarian concept to
them is essentially tritheistic which is against G-d's word and first commandment.
Therefore, please consider the following:
Col 2:9
"For in him (talking about Y'shua) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead
bodily."
Y'shua described himself in John 8:58 as the Great I AM,
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I AM."
If you study the textus
receptus rendering of this verse in Greek, you will observe that the emphasis of
this "I am" phrase is that for the Y-H-V-H of the Old Testament, as is made
clear by the people wishing to stone Y'shua after this statement on the basis that he was
allegedly "blaspheming."
He was claiming to be G-d the Father
as the scripture states, "For unto us
a child is born, unto us a son (My comment: emphasis, *the son* will also be called the
Father) is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be
called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father (emphasis, the son is
also the Father!), The Prince of Peace."
The following scripture is given with the Strongs reference numbers for
clarification of the word which is italicized in the English rendering of the King James
Version, specifically, the word *he* which is not proceeded by a Strongs reference.
John 8:24
I said <2036> (5627) therefore <3767> unto you <5213>,
that <3754> ye shall die <599>
(5695) in <1722> your
<5216> sins <266>:
for <1063> if <3362>
ye believe <4100> (5661) not <3362>
that <3754> I <1473> am <1510> (5748) *he*,
ye shall die <599> (5695) in
<1722> your <5216>
sins <266>.
The actual Greek rendering
for the English that I am he, is
hoti egoµ eimi = that I am, which is God's name as found in Exo.
3:14. It was Y-H-V-H, G-d that there said, Ehejeh asher Eheje, I will be what I will
be. The inclusion of the word he is purely incidental and was not originally
found in the original authentic, textus receptus, or received text.
G-d is described in the Old Testament (Tanakh) as the
HOLY ONE of Israel (Psalms 71:22). |
And immediately I was in the spirit:
and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. Rev
4:2
Only one person can sit on
the throne of any kingdom, especially the monotheistic kingdom of G-d. What I
am trying to tell you, my fellow Messianic Jews, is this:
Y'shua is. . . (John 14:6).
John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name,..
Y'shua is Y'shua's name, and if He came in His Father's name, then what is the Father's
name? Y'shua has the Y-H-V-H built in it. Y'shua means " Y-H-V-H our
salvation."
Also, G-d is described as a Holy Spirit in the Old Testament (Psalms 51:11) and in the New
Testament (Brit HaDasha).
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost
(Spirit), whom the Father will send in my name (IN Y'SHUA'S NAME), he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance.
With this, I come to my point and imparting of knowledge to you. Y'shua is G-d manifest in
the flesh (I Tim 3:16). Isa 42:I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I
not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
The trinitarian viewpoint that you now have has been
handed down to you not through the Word of G-d but through the tradition of
men (Col 2:8) and of the Roman Catholic Church which we all know gives "praise
to graven images."
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent (Greek
'metanoeo' meaning to change one's mind), and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ (Y'shua Ha Mashiach) for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost. I implore
you to rethink and rewrite your belief statement on a purely biblical basis, not allowing
any of man's tradition, namely the trinitarian concept of the Godhead as
THREE, to corrupt your very fundamental right to "the way, the TRUTH, and the life." Rev 18:4
"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye
receive not of her plagues. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the
knowledge of our Lord (Remember, only one Lord!) and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory
both now and for ever. Amen.
G-d and (Greek
kai meaning and, as well as even, meaning the
same as) our L-rd Yshua Ha Mashiach bless you,
Brother Moses Costello
